Winter schools continuing in Mpumalanga

Learners started with their winter classes from June 29 and will continue until July 10.

MBOMBELA- The 2015 winter classes are progressing very well in the province.
Today (July 6) the MEC for the Department of Education Ms Reginah Mhaule will pay a visit at Ngwaritshane Secondary School from 08H00 and later proceeds to Ditau Secondary School in Bushbuckridge. She also visited visited Bonginhlanhla Secondary School on Friday to check on how learning and teaching is taking place.
Learners started with their winter classes from June 29 and will continue until July 10.
According to Jasper Zwane, the department established 65 winter school centres in the four districts of the province with a total of 5895 learners in attendance and targeting schools which performed below 60% in the 2014 National Senior Certificate examinations.
“These centres were selected in a manner which will enable learners to access them without travelling over long distances,”he said.

Subjects including Mathematics, Physical Science, Mathematics Literacy, Life Sciences, Economics, Accounting, Business Studies, History, Geography, Agricultural Science and English First Additional Language will be discussed at large.
