Joyous Celebration heading to Mpumalanga

Fans can look forward to a sterling performance of Joyous 19, presented with the distinct Joyous flavour that’s made the ensemble the household name it’s become.

MBOMBELA- Following smash hit performances in three major cities, South Africa’s most loved gospel ensemble heads to Mpumalanga for a highly anticipated show and for the MTN Joyous 20 cast auditions.

The gospel group is set to perform favourite hits from their 19th album titled Back to the Cross on July 4 at the Banquet Hall in Middelburg, while auditions will take place on July 3 also in Middelburg.

Fans can look forward to a sterling performance of Joyous 19, presented with the distinct Joyous flavour that’s made the ensemble the household name it’s become. “This year’s inspirational theme, Back to the Cross, explains our focus for the year which is all about looking back to where everything started, The Cross.

This is translated through the music as the group will perform favourites old and familiar Sunday school hymns that fans know and love from years back but this time they will have a new feel or the “Joyous injection” as well as new compositions which our fans love and have been enjoying for the past 19 years.” says Jabu Hlongwane.

Another new and exciting edition to the show is Mpumalanga born and award winning comedian Elton Mduduzi Ntuli who is widely known as “The 1st Ndebele Comic”. Elton is a story teller of note who has hosted various events and functions including Gospel shows and his set promises to bring inspiring and entertaining comedy to the show. Fans should also get ready for the much talked about Mpumalanga leg of the auditions which will take place on July 3 in Middleburg.

“These auditions give many artists who are gifted an opportunity to be part of the remarkable MTN Joyous Celebration family. We have a sterling cast and believe that we will discover great talents that will match with the current ensemble. Gauteng, Eastern Cape and North West have given us their all and Mpumalanga should do the same.” says Jabu Hlongwane.
To participate in the auditions, one must be 16 years and above and has to pre-register as a vocalist or a musician playing an instrument. To book a spot in the auditions, register by simply sending an sms as follows: “Name, ID number, vocalist” for those who wish to sign with Joyous OR “Name, ID number, type of instrument” for those who wish to form part of the Joyous band. SMS to be sent to 38004 and charged at R10 per SMS.

Applicants on the day will need to come with the reference numbers that they will receive after they have registered. The SMS line is open and will close at midday on the 01st July 2015. Shortlisted and successful candidates will be informed at the end of September 2015.
