Man brutally beaten by security guard

A victim who was severely beaten and threatened with a gun by a security guard working for a well known security company, for no reason says he is not pleased with the manner in which the court handled the case.

MBOMBELA- A victim who was severely beaten and threatened with a gun by a security guard working for a well known security company, for no reason says he is not pleased with the manner in which the court handled the case.

Mr Mike Makhubela (37) says he was surprised to learn that the matter had been dropped from the Nelspruit Magistrate Court without being informed.

Makhubela alleges that the the security guard did not attended the t case on the day he was suppossed to appear in court, however he was shocked to learn from him that he appeared and paid R500 as admission of guilt.

“I am still shocked, how this can happen because I was there on the day of hearing and he did not show up yet the court said the case was withdrawned,” According to Makhubela it all started on December 31 when he was preparing to buy petrol from Total Garage, when the security guard allegedly asked why he was staring at him and allegedly humiliated him and called him with discourteous words him in public.

“I thought with securities around everyone is safe but, I was victimized and humiliated by a security,” he said.“He started off by saying why am I looking at him, He alleged that he subsequently started punching him and threatening him with a gun as he continuously tried pulling it from his work uniform.

“I was not able to go to work because of the pain I felt yet the case was just dropped. I was beaten like a child, I was expecting security guards to protect us yet we must be protected from them”, he further stated.This publication could not find comments from the prosecutors since she was in court when called her.
