Pedestrian knocked down by car.
Pedestrian was hited by a car at four-way road while crossing robots this morning, she was urgently taken to Rob Ferrera hospital.
MBOMBELA – A pedestrian is fighting for her life after she was knocked down by a car this morning on the busy N4 Road, just in the heart of Mbombela Town.
She was quickly rushed to the nearby Rob Ferreira hospital, where she is being treated. According to police officials at the scene of the accident, the car had the right of way, however the pedestrian was already crossing to the other side when she was hit.
“Most pedestrian are not aware of the fact that on fourway intersections, robots are opened for both cars and pedestrians.
We therefore urge motorist and pedestrians to be alert when crossing such intersections,” said the police officers at the scene.
Police had since advised pedestrians to be on high alert when crossing busy roads.
