Last week community members of Masoyi were up in arms fighting for the local police station commander to step down with immediate effect because according to them she wasn’t doing much to fight against crime that has infested the whole community.
“Crime activities that include house breaking, robbery and rape have become a norm for people who are lazy to work for their stomachs and if the police are not doing anything, we are bound to take matters into our hands,” said an angry resident.
We asked the local police to identify five crime hotspots around Masoyi and here they are:
1. Numbi (Hijacking and robbery),
2. Ka Slow(Hijacking and rape),
3. Mganduzweni( Housebreaking and rape),
4. Mahushu(Rape and robbery) and
5. Mshadza( House breaking, rape and robbery)
