Kasi fashion show to celebrate Africa Month

In celebrating Africa Month and to intensify the fight against xenophobia, Taribo Lifestyle Arena will host the second annual Kasi Fashion Show.

BARBERTON – In celebrating Africa Month and to intensify the fight against xenophobia, Taribo Lifestyle Arena will host the second annual Kasi Fashion Show.

According to organisers and the owner of the lifestyle estate, Stella Gwebu-Mabunda said this year’s event will be dedicated to all the victims of the recent xenophobic attacks which claimed the lives of four foreign nationals.

The show will be hosted on Saturday May 30 and entrance fee is R50.
“Since we are celebrating Africa Month, we thought it wise to infuse the African element in the show in solidarity with our brothers and sisters.

We are basically trying to send our message across that we are all Africans, we are brothers and sisters and therefore we must unite,” Gwebu-Mabunda said.

“Our theme this year is Afro-chic, in line with Africa Month and also to show unity. In our efforts to try and show a united face, we have invited designers from other African states, who have already confirmed and we will together stand up and say no to xenophobia through the fashion show.”

She said the fashion will be mostly African. Former Miss Mpumalanga, Mpumi Lephoko, who will represent the country and the African continent in Cyprus during the finals of Miss Fashion TV, will together with other well-known provincial models strut her stuff at the Kasi Fashion Show.
