Police marched against xenophobic attacks

The marchers described the recent attacks on foreigners as an act of barbarism that needed to be condemned in all its forms.

ELUKWATINI – The town was painted sky blue as members of Elukwatini Police Station joined by various stakeholders recently took to the streets in raising their voice against xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals living in the country.

The marchers described the recent attacks on foreigners as an act of barbarism that
needed to be condemned in all its forms. The theme was, “Prevention is better than cure,” and they called on government to send a warning against xenophobic attacks.

It should also be noted that Elukwatini and surroundings have not experienced such attacks and the local police aimed to keep it that way. All the busy corners of the township were
visited during the march and prayers were made by various church members who also attended the event.

Most businesses closed in support of the campaign.
