BLOCK C – Tonga SAPS are calling on local residents to assist them on their quest to find three suspects accused of breaking into a house belonging to a 55-year-old woman on Friday night.
According to the police, the victim has alleged that she was asleep when her bedroom door was brutally opened and three African men in possession of a firearm, wearing balaclavas, started demanding money.
“According to the issued statement, the suspects took an LG cell-phone and an undisclosed amount of cash before they fled the scene on foot,” said Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, of Tonga SAPS.
“We are still investigating the matter, and we appeal to the community to come forth with any information that could lead to the arrest of these culprits. Anyone with any information can contact Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Mnisi on 072 6038 438,” he concluded.
