Nkomazi plagued by rape cases

A-35-year old man is said to have been arrested for raping a 32-year-old woman in KaMhlushwa on Saturday. According to Tonga SAPS, the woman claims that it was around midnight, when she was coming back from a party and was approached by the suspect who forcefully took her to his house.

NKOMAZI – A-35-year old man is said to have been arrested for raping a 32-year-old woman in KaMhlushwa on Saturday. According to Tonga SAPS, the woman claims that it was around midnight, when she was coming back from a party and was approached by the suspect who forcefully took her to his house.

“Upon their arrival, the suspect undressed her and forced himself on her. The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested immediately,” said Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, of Tonga SAPS.

The victim is undergoing treatment and counselling, while the police are still investigating the matter. This doesn’t seem to the only ordeal to have occurred in Nkomazi this past weekend.

An eleven-year-old girl is also said to have been raped in Masibekela on Saturday, by a suspect known to her.
The young girl’s mother has alleged that she was of the idea that her daughter was doing her homework, when she suddenly heard her inevitable cries.

“She asked her daughter what was wrong, that’s when she admitted to being raped several times upon her visit to her grandmother over the weekend. The matter was reported to the police and investigations are underway,” said Nyambi.
