Tip-off leads to drug dealers

The officers then conducted a thorough search and found more small bags containing the same substance, as well as cash in a wardrobe. The drugs and money were confiscated

WHITE RIVER – Two Nigerian nationals, Ernest Nwocha and Chinedu Princewill Onyekwere, both 26 years old, were arrested in connection with dealing with drugs.

The two were arrested on April 8 after members of the White River K9 Unit swiftly acted on a tip-off regarding the duo who were allegedly selling the drugs at Bahati outside White River.

Upon arrival, the men in blue found the suspects inside and immediately spotted small bags filled with a white substance on a table.

The officers then conducted a thorough search and found more small bags containing the same substance, as well as cash in a wardrobe. The drugs and money were confiscated.

“People who are selling drugs are devoid of human dignity and are described as heartless by the community. Therefore, the police management applaud the members involved in the putting of the ill acts of the suspects to an abrupt end. The police are hereby calling on the community to be its eyes and ears,” said Brig Selvy Mohlala, provincial police spokesperson.

The suspects were released on R2 000 bail each.
