Deputy minister to visit Sappi Ngodwana today

The Sappi Chemical Cellulose Division in Ngodwana received a 12i Tax Allowance to the value of R550m to increase the output of its production.

MBOMBELA- The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mzwandile Masina will visit the Sappi Southern Africa Plant in Ngodwana, Mpumalalanga as part of Taking the dti (Department of Trade and Industry) to the Factories campaign. Deputy Minister Masina will be hosted by Sappi Southern Africa Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Alex Thiel.

The purpose of the Taking the dti to the Factories campaign is to offer the political leadership of the department an opportunity to visit companies which have received funding from the dti in order to assess the impact of the financial support, as well those that have shown potential for growth and necessity to acquire funds from the department.

It also serves as a platform for sharing of information and ideas on the contribution of beneficiaries of incentives offered by the dti on the department’s objectives, including the creation of employment, industrialisation, economic growth, and the creation of black industrialists.
