Stolen tools and bicycles recovered

The items include a stamping machine, generators, wheel barrows, ladders, grinders, brush cutters, chain saw, concrete power drill, and bicycles, worth an estimated value of approximately R200 000. The tools were all seized from the suspects’ houses.

WHITE RIVER- Three suspects aged between 38 and 51 years appeared before the White River Magistrate’s on charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen property.

Their arrest followed a concerted effort between the police and J&M Security guards. On March 23, at about 13:50, the White River police were summoned by J&M Security guards after they had found a man with suspected stolen tools.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the suspect with construction equipment.

“On further investigation, police uncovered that the equipment was stolen from various places around White River. Police managed to track down and busted his accomplices, of which one of them was identified as being responsible to transport the stolen items,” explained Brig Selvy Mohlala.

The items include a stamping machine, generators, wheel barrows, ladders, grinders, brush cutters, chain saw, concrete power drill, and bicycles, worth an estimated value of approximately R200 000. The tools were all seized from the suspects’ houses.

Some of the items have already been identified and handed over to a lawful owner who owns a construction company.

Police urge community members, especially from White River and surroundings areas who have lost such items to come forth to the police station and check whether they can identify some of the found items.
