NGODWANA – An old couple is thankful to be alive after surviving the trauma of being kidnapped and locked for hours in their house at Houtboshoek Farm last week.
The pensioners, aged 83 and 72 years, were apparently held hostage by unknown criminals who tied them with electric cables and locked them in their bathroom from 19:00 until 23:00, while they ransacked the house.
According to police, the criminals stole the couple’s Nissan with registration number FMT 809 MP, a firearm, Sony plasma television, two laptops, a Samsung tablet and Sony smartphone, jewellery and R2 000 cash.
No arrests have been made so far and the police investigations continue.
