MBOMBELA- Schools around the country are urged to enter this year’s Collect-a-Can National Schools Competition which kicked off since the beginning of February.

The competition is keen to provide schools with an exciting opportunity to raise additional funds for their schools.
“Schools that register for the Collect-a-Can National Schools Competition are encouraged to get their learners involved by collecting as many cans as possible to win great prizes. Prizes are awarded to the schools that collect the most cans per month as well as the most cans per year,” says Zimasa Velaphi, the company’s public relations and marketing manager.

She added while entering the competition can be rewarding, although it also comes with its own challenges involving hard work and organisation skills. Participants are urged to collect cans from shops, taverns, social gatherings and the community. The club also organises a clean-up day once a month where skaters clean the village and collect cans.
