Students told not to copy in exams

The day also served as an eye-opener for newcomers to the college.

WHITE RIVER – Hundreds of students who enrolled for their vocational training at White River Technical College were warned to resist the temptation of copying during examination time.

This took place last Friday during induction at the institution.

“If you are found copying, you will be penalised and suspended from writing similar exams in the country. You will be suspended for three trimesters from writing any engineering courses and two semesters for businesses courses at any technical college in the country,” explained Mr Patrick Shabangu, the college’s vice rector.

“Copying is a very serious matter. We had students who had copied and were suspended before and are regretting it now, so don’t fall victim to the same trap as well,” he added.

The day also served as an eye-opener for newcomers to the college. They were introduced to management and briefed on what is expected of them.

“The college has a strong team of committed, dedicated and hardworking lecturers who will help a dedicated and committed learner to pass with flying colours and be employable,” said the
college director and founder Dr Fana Sibiya.
