Mob demands closure

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – The police in Mhala have urged community members not to take matters into their own hands and rather trust them to do their job.

This is after the residents demanded the parents of two men suspected of killing another man after an alleged rhino poaching trip went wrong in August last year, to hand over the suspects to them.

The angry residents told Mpumalanga News that the victim, Mr Bones Khosa, who was a former game ranger, never set foot at home again since he had left with the suspects six months ago.

They now want the suspects to disclose what had happened to Khosa.
According to the community members, there were rumours that the suspects were part of a rhino-poaching syndicate.

“We know that the parents are fully aware of their sons’ whereabouts and we want them now.

They must give us answers or die,” fumed a furious community member.

They said they would not rest until the victim’s family and the whole village got closure about the his disappearance.

However, the police have confirmed that one of the suspects has been arrested and they are still searching for the other one.

They could not confirm the rhino-poaching rumours and they further urged anyone with information that might assist in solving the mysterious case to come forward.
