74-year-old found dead on her farm

TONGA – A 74-year-old grandmother was found murdered on her farm yesterday. According to the police, the victim left home at about 08:00 in the morning to work in the nearby farm and never returned back home as she normally did.

“The husband became suspicious and went to look for her in the farm and found her lying dead on the grass, he then called the police who found her strangled and assaulted with an unknown object on the head,” said Spokesperson for Tonga SAPS, Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi.

Police are investigating a murder case and appealed that anyone with information can call the Tonga Police station on 0824498481.Police have also warned the community not to walk alone on their farms as it is no longer safe.
