Big Fish ready to triple his praise and worship

Gospel singer, Sipho Makhabane, affectionately known as The Big Fish, has been discharged from hospital and ready to hit the ground running.

MBOMBELA – Gospel singer, Sipho Makhabane, affectionately known as The Big Fish, has been discharged from hospital and ready to hit the ground running.

Makhabane was admitted to the ICU after he had been involved in a car accident on his way to Delmas from Swaziland in December.

“I can confirm that I have fully recovered. The only thing I’m dealing with right now is the psychological aftermath of the whole ordeal, which is completely normal,” he said.

Makhabane could not stop conveying his gratitude to the people of Mpumalanga who have been praying for him after the news of his accident broke. “I have heard that the churches were praying for me intensely during their cross-over services.

I cannot say thank you enough to the people who supported my family and myself during this time of distress,” he added.

“This is an accident that could have happened to anyone on our South African roads, I am thankful to the Almighty for sparing my life. I will definitely double, if not triple my effort of praising and worshiping God, He has been kind to me.”

According to Makhabane, the only disturbing event that occurred as a consequence of this ordeal was the loss of his aunt.

“I was coming from Swaziland from visiting my sick aunt and going to church in Delmas. When she was told about the accident, she couldn’t take it and succumbed to death. That is the only disturbing matter I had to endure, but God has made me stronger.”

The nationally renowned artist condemned the use of social media by some people.”I appreciate the support I received from social-media platforms as well, but I was a little bit disturbed by the messages of condolences that made rounds.

It is only in the spirit of ubuntu that one would have to wait for the family to give out an official word before they could confirm anybody as dead.

“I urge our people to respect the platform in that regard, for any other person, it might have been tragic, but I’m strong, I could take it,” he said.

For someone who just came out of a coma, Sipho seems to have recovered swiftly and well. “I am on my way to Jozi as I’m speaking, I have to finalise Thobekile’s DVD before Easter.

I’m going back to work and what better time to start than now? I will be going back to doing what I do best on stage soon,” he concluded.
