Man up for murdering young woman

MBOMBELA – A 35-year-old man is expected to appear before the Bethal Magistrate’s Court tomorrow,facing allegations of murder.

His appearance spirals from a gruesome discovery of a body of a 20-year-old woman, Betty Mlotshwa who was discovered on the December 2 in a backroom used by the suspect.

It is alleged that the elders of the house where the body was found became suspicious when they noticed that their son had not been seen for a few days.

They then decided to investigate as to what might have happened to him.

According to the police, their investigation led to the discovery of the body covered with blankets.

The cause of death appeared to be stabbing with a sharp object.

It is clear that the man apparently fled the area after having committed the murder, hence his arrest yesterday at Embalenhle near Secunda.

The acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Adv) Meshack Nogwanya thanked the community for assisting the police with crucial information that led to the arrest of the suspect.

“I appreciate the manner in which the community willingly work closely with the police. Crime is a thorn to all of us,” said Nogwanya.

Police further confirmed that it came forth that the suspect was on parole, for a house-breaking case that took place in 2011 and he was also linked to a business robbery that occurred at Embalenhle last year.
