Man killed and buried lover in a garden

Seeing that he had no escape route, the man confessed to the killing of the woman and burying her body in the vegetable garden

KWAGGAFONTEIN- A 35-year- old man briely appear before the Mkobola Magistrate’s Court in connection with the murder of his girlfriend.

The man’s arrest follows the gruesome discovery of the body of a hi 37 year old partner burried in a shallow grave in a vegetable garden.

Information suggests that the woman had been reported as missing on Sunday,January 4 and her missing went viral within the community.

Police studied the circumstances of how the woman went missing and suspected a fowl play. On January 5 thats when they approached her boyfriend who is now a suspect on the case and questioned him about the whereabouts of the woman.

It appeared that the man tried to be evasive and told the police that her girlfriend last went to withdraw money from a bank and never returned.

The police then started to search around their house. At the backyard where there is a vegetable garden, they noticed that the soil was recently worked on.

When questioned what was he doing in the garden, he said that he was planting beetroot seeds.
“The answer was not enough to convince the police who were determined to leave no stone unturned.They then ordered him to bring a shovel so that they could see and confirm his allegations. Seeing that he had no escape route, the man confessed to the killing of the woman and burying her body in the vegetable garden,” said Brig Selvy Mohlala.

The provincial Acting Commissioner Major General (Adv) Meshack Nogwanya praised the police who discovered the body of the woman and in turn managed to solve the case in just a day. He further urged the community to continue with the spirit of patriotism and to constantly work side by side with the police.
