MBOMBELA – A 31-year-old man accused of the kidnapping, rape and murder of his eight-year-old stepchild, appeared in the Gauteng Pretoria High court seated in Nelspruit this week.
The accused, Mr Edgar Charles Mabunda from New Forest near Thulamahashe, pleaded not guilty to all three charges namely kidnapping, rape and murder of his girlfriend’s daughter which happened on July 29, 2013.
According to the charge sheet, Mabunda, who came across the minor and her younger brother whilst going to school, lured the girl to follow him to a secluded place to meet with her mother (girlfriend) and that is where he apparently raped and killed her before calling his girlfriend, telling her of what he had done to her daughter and where he had dumped the body.
The matter continues in court.
