Matric final exams going smooth

MBOMBELA – The department of education has reported that since the grade 12 final examinations started last week, they are going smooth and there no bad incidents that have been experienced so far.

Therefore, the department is encouraged with the manner in which the examinations are progressing and wishes to extend its appreciation to parents and members of the community in general for the continued support to this process and so far learners wrote Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and Languages such as Portuguese, German and Hebrew.

During the prayer meeting for exams that was held at Ingwenyama Lodge two weeks ago, the MEC of education, Ms Reginah Mhaule stated that this year history will be made in the province as she declared that a 87,6% pass rate will be attained by the class of 2014.

She was quoted in one of our sister’s publication Mpumalanga Mirror saying:

”I am confident to say that the class of 2014 will do wonders, come January 6, 2015 , we will be witnessing our kids making us proud as we will be announcing matric results at the Barberton Town Hall. The reason why I have an assurance by declaring an 87,6% pass rate, it is because I know that God is on our side and teachers and the learners are well prepared for the final examinations,“ she concluded.
