TONGA – A 23-year-old man appeared before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s court for raping his friend’s girlfriend.
According to the victim who is 21 years old, she was at a local tavern with her boyfriend and the friend of the boyfriend when they all decided to go to sleep.
The three then went to sleep in one house, but when they arrived at that house, the suspect decided to go back to the tavern. The suspect then locked the two and went back to the tavern.
According to the victim, she does not know when the suspect came back, she felt him raping her.
The victim then screamed for help and her boyfriend woke-up.
A case of rape was then opened at Tonga Police Station and the suspect was arrested.
He appeared before the Nkomazi magistrate’s court and was released on R1 000 bail and he will appear again on December 1.
