Pastors devote their time to pray for schoolchildren

"I believe that the prayers will help the learners focus and stay on top of their games".

WHITE RIVER – Pastors from various corners of the province have promised to dedicate 67 minutes of prayer against evil spirits believed to be operating in schools.

“There are evil spirits that are targeting our children in schools, especially during this time of the year, when they are writing their final exams.
The spirits are aiming to destroy the future of our kids preventing them to focus by causing silly incidents that might derail the exams or cause learners to have headaches.
It’s about time that as pastors from all the corners of the province we unite and pray to the Almighty God to protect them as they have started with their exams,” said the provincial chairperson of the Moral Regeneration Movement, Rev Micah Nthali.

This initiative comes at the time when the Department of Education received shocking news that a 17-year-old learner was shot dead by another pupil at Mabande Secondary School.

The department has since sent a special team to provide counselling to learners and teachers of the school.

“I can assure all citizens that history will be made in the province as we declared the pass rate of 87,6 per cent. I believe that the prayers will help the learners focus and stay on top of their game,” said MEC Ms Reginah Mhaule.
