Abothokoza want their rights to be respected

"We want our voice to be heard as we played a very crucial role during the apartheid era, but now we are not enjoying the benefit of democracy".

BARBERTON – Traditional healers from different areas around the capital city came in numbers at the community hall yesterday to voice out their challenges that they face in their communities.

This publication learnt that some of the challenges that they come across includes the violation of their rights while this country is celebrating 20 years of democracy.

Ms Ntombizodwa Nhlanga from the Traditional Healers Organization said:

“Today we are gathered here because heard as citizens of the country. We want our voice to be heard as we played a very crucial role during the apartheid era, but now we are not enjoying the benefit of democracy, kwezinye izindawo abothokoza abavumelekanga kutsi bagubhe imitsi (In other places traditional healers are not allowed to dig their herbs ).“
