Two bodies found at KwaMhlanga

A woman's body was found a day after she went missing while a toddler's decomposed body was found in another area.

SIYABUSWA- Mpumalanga police are looking for information that could assist in an investigation following the discovery of a woman and infant’s bodies at KwaMhlanga and Siyabuswa respectively.

First to be found was the body of a 28-year-old woman on October 27 at about 11:00. According to police the body was spotted by a shepherd who was taking his cattle to the river to drink water. When police arrived at the scene, they found the body of a woman with injuries on her face covered with a plastic.

A short probe by police revealed that the woman had been reported missing on previous day,October 26, after she allegedly went out jogging and never returned home.

On the other hand the infant’s decomposed body was found under a tree next to a river at Maganagobuswa in Siyabuswa “A” by community members who alerted the police. Police estimates the infant to be six month old.

No one has been arrested in both incidents and police are investigating cases of murder. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the causes of death.

Police urge anyone with information to contact Lieutenant Colonel Sibongile Vilakazi at 082 318 9651 for the KwaMhlanga case and Warrant Officer Sindile Ntuli at 072 141 8993 for the Siyabuswa incident.
