Man appears in court for attacking ex-girlfriend

A 25-year-old man identified as Dumisani Dlamini from Langeloop has appeared before the Nkomazi magistrate’s court on a charge of robbery today.

TONGA – A 25-year-old man identified as Dumisani Dlamini from Langeloop has appeared before the Nkomazi magistrate’s court on a charge of robbery today.

The suspect allegedly robbed his ex-girlfriend off her cellphone, clothes and an undisclosed amount of cash on September 20.

According to a statement released by Tonga SAPS, the victim was coming from work when the suspect grabbed her from behind and stabbed her with a sharpened wire and took her personal belongings and fled the scene.

The victim was helped by community members who took her to hospital.

A case of robbery was opened at Tonga SAPS. The suspect was still at large and he was arrested yesterday. The suspect has appeared at the Nkomazi Magistrate court today.

The statement has also indicated that police are warning the community not to resort to criminal activities when they are having problems but rather report it to the police or people who can help them.
