Principals armed to deliver better services at schools

The programme aims to improve school performance by the development of critical applied management competencies on a fast track basis through training, coaching and mentoring of school principals and HOD’s

MBOMBELA- Over 230 school leaders in Bohlabela District were awarded with certificates of competency after finishing their studies in Professional Management Development Programme (PMDP) during a graduaction ceremony held at Emnotweni on October 7.

The programme aims to improve school performance by the development of critical applied management competencies on a fast track basis through training, coaching and mentoring of school principals and HOD’s.
The programme is highly practical in design and focuses on key management challenges faced by South African Schools.

It was heard during the event that it was decided by the Mpumalanga Department of Education to pilot the programme in partnership PMDP Consortium in 80 schools from Lehukwe, Marite, Maviljan and Sabie circuits in the Bohlabela District.

“It pleases the department to see that we had already started bearing fruits, surely these circuits are not going to be same , they will be better than they were before,” says Ms Reginah Mhaule , MEC for the department.
The event was hosted in partnership with Price Water Coopers and the University of KwaZulu Natal .
