“All work and no play made Jack a dull boy.” Ehlanzeni TVET College has taken this adage to heart by taking some time off work to play. The college treated its staff to a health and wellness workshop at Loskop Dam near Middelburg two weeks ago.

“We do this annually to keep our staff motivated and rejuvenated all year through. We have decided to do it just before the commencement of exams so that the healthy attitudes of our staff members can rub off on our students and bear beautiful results,” said xolisi Nzimande, head of communications at the college.

Different supporting desks were also invited to the workshop to help the workers keep healthy in all the spheres of their lives. Nedbank also assisted with financial solutions as their contribution to reduce stress among the staff.

“Healthy minds result in a healthy workforce, and we are there to calm the financial nerves,” said Iphendule Nkokwana of Nedbank. The staff was treated to an exquisite and classy gala dinner on Friday night and came out looking their glitzy and glamorous.

“We basically want to ensure good relations with all our staff members, hence we have all of them together here for this interaction. We have also invited Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS) representatives, a pastor and Old Mutual, to name but a few.

We will get tested for almost all life threatening diseases and we have counselling in place if needed,” concluded Nzimande.
