TONGA – The Community Forum in Mzinti will now fight crime a little bit easier and hopefully swiftly. This comes after local businessman, Mr Patel, donated 25 reflectors and torches to the team.

“One of the business owners volunteered to provide the patrol team with reflectors and torches as they are helping in reducing crime in the community of Mzinti.

Each and every sector has a team that is helping the police with patrolling that particular area, this will really come in handy to the teams,” said Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi of Tonga SAPS.

According to Nyambi, the patrol team promised to work hand in hand with the police and they expressed gratitude to Mr Patel for helping them out.

The Sector Manager Captain Makhabane also thanked the donation of reflector jackets and discouraged the members not to take the law into their own hands.

Makhabane emphasised the duties of the patrol team and that they must not try to investigate crime and encouraged them to call the police should they encounter any form of crime
