Bail granted to baby snatchers

Two Mozambican suspects were denided bail based on the fact that their legal status in the country was not confirmed yet

MBOMBELA – The Nelspruit Magistrate Court released three of the five accused arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a day-old baby boy from Rob Ferreira hospital.

The bail applications of an J&M security guard Mr Phineas Sono (35) his 31-year-old wife, Portia Ncube (31) and their nephew, Mr Aaron Moyo-Nyoni (20), were not opposed by the state and hence the court released them on R700 bail each.

Their two Mozambican co-accused Mr Ananias Ndzimba (27) and Mr Julius Sithole (25) were denided bail based on the fact that their legal status in the country was not confirmed yet.
Police investigations in the matter still continue and the accused are expected to appear again in court on October 15.
