Department condemns learners’s stabbing

The department of education condemned the latest incident which saw a learner being stabbed and admitted in hospital

BARBERTON – The Mpumalanga department of education has strongly condemned the latest incident which occurred at Kamhola Secondary School in Barberton on September 12 where a learners’ fight led to one of them being stabbed and admitted in hospital.

“The department is going to institute an investigation to probe the circumstances that led to the incident. We urge our learners to refrain from such practices, but stay focused in their studies at all times,” said the department’s spokesperson, Mr Jasper Zwane.

He added that the department will also send a team of officials from the inclusive education directorate to asses and render counselling services to the learners who witnessed this incident at the time of occurrence.

  1. I think that these school kids lack discipline. Them police should intervene to make sure that these kind of things don’t happen again. Our generation is becoming a disgrace.
