Ancyl celebrates 70 years

"We need to sustain democracy in this country by defending the leardership of the ANC".

MBOMBELA – The African National Congress Youth League (Ancyl) provincial chairperson, Mr Desmond Moela, has called on delegates to represent youth views correctly and instil discipline and unity within the youth during the Ancyl 70th anniversary celebration at Mbombela last Friday.

Congress reaffirmed that they were the ANC Youth League of the ANC and would at all times subject themselves to the total discipline of the glorious movement, the African National Congress.

“The ANC Youth League should be creative and bring new ideas to the ANC to take the struggle for socio-economic freedom forward.
“As the youth league of Mpumalanga, we will do so radically and militantly and vow never to confuse militancy with anarchy,” said Moela.

“As the ANC youth league, we need to sustain democracy in this country by defending the leadership of the ANC. We need to join youth clubs and sustain the youth who elected us by speaking in one voice,” he added.

He further stated that by joining the youth league, clubs would convey them more rapidly in representing their issues and prioritising their issues to receive maximum attention.

The youth league also noted the high levels of unemployment, particularly among young people.
They urged government to ensure employment of young people, young women in particular.

Ancyl saluted the 1944 generation of the ANC Youth League, which set itself a mission of political freedom in their lifetime and drafted the programme of action in pursuance of this mission.

They compelled the leadership of the league to start the process of engaging on the generational mission of the current generation of the Youth League.

“We will subject ourselves to the discipline of the African National Congress as we owe our existence to the ANC in this country,” said Ancyl provincial secretary,
Mr Lucky Ndinisa.
