MBOMBELA – Melody Thabede is the beautiful face who is making dreams come true for other models, and she is proud of it.
The 26-year-old model of KaNyamazane is the founder of MT Charisma Modelling Agency which is known for unleashing modelling talent in the province.
“I am very passionate about what I do, which I started when I was 15, and have never looked back since. I celebrate womanhood in every way possible and I aim to inspire other young women to do so as well,” said Melody.
One can rest assured that Melody does her thing harmoniously, literally, as her agency will host the Inaugural Umbukiso Wengcesho Yase Mpumalanga, which will serve as a battle field for designers in and out of the province.
“We are not just talk, we want to put our money where our mouths are, and therefore all designers in the province must come out with guns blazing to take part in this spectacular event,” she said.
The fashion show promises to be all glitz and glamour and it takes place at Casambo Lodge on September 26. “Every woman wants to feel loved and appreciated and we want them to just take the day to look and feel good.
We want to get together, boost one another’s confidence while we have massive fun,” said Melody.
The fashion guru is not just a pretty face as she is pursuing her qualification in project management through Unisa.
“I believe women need to empower themselves all the time and what better way to do so than through education.”
Melody says she realised she’s got it when she took up a girl who wanted nothing to do with modelling, trained her and encouraged her to enter for Miss FET 2009, for which she was then crowned.
“That was one of the happiest days of my life and from then I really was encouraged to take my modelling career more seriously,” she said.
This outspoken model says she looks up to Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell, and she knows that one of her models will break into the Brooklyn world one day, if it’s not she herself.
