MATSULU – A total of 50 primary school learners of five different schools in the Nkululeko circuit benefited from a church and local company.

Mordecai Trading and Christian Life Tabernacle Centre brought hope to children with the saying, “Your background is not your foreground”.

Children aged 7 to 14 from disadvantaged families received new school uniforms at the Christian Life Tabernacle Centre on Sunday.

Past Percy Mdluli of the centre urged learners not to quit school no matter how big the obstacles.

He told them the only way to life for this generation was education.

“You are not receiving this gift because you are beautiful or smart, it is because the grace of God is upon you. You are all worthy, you are powerful and you are all equal in the face of God,” said Mdluli.

He said disadvantaged people should stop cursing themselves. He said what people said about themselves, was what they would become.

June Sibiya, PRO of Mordecai Trading said,

“We have partnered with this centre to give back to the community. These learners are our future leaders, we must empower them and make them realise they are worthy to live, grow strong and fight for a better future.”

Beatrice Themba, a grade-two teacher at Tsandzanani Primary School, acknowledged the initiative with gratitude.

She spoke on behalf of all beneficiaries.

“I’d really like to say thank you to the initiatives and again, thanks on behalf of all the children. You have done a great job to help them and instil hope in their lives.”

Beneficiaries come from the primary schools at Takheleni, Enzane, Letshakuthula, Tsandzanani and Funindlela, among others.
