MBOMBELA – “I tell you, Cefups Academy is no school but a correctional services centre that ruined my life. Before I went there, I had never sat eyes on nyaope, drugs or indulged in alcohol, but that school corrupted me to the hilt.”
Those are the words of a 19-year-old former learner who was also savagely sjambokked by the owner of the school, Mr Simon Mkhatshwa.
The lad, Sipho Ngwenya (not his real name), met us in the city to tell us about his experience and the hardship he endured as a learner at Cefups Academy from 2011 to August 2012 when he fled after having been beaten.

The school is doing a good job academically but they’ve lost their marbles. A girl child was beaten so badly because her parents forgot to pack underwear for her and a female teacher noticed and alerted her male teachers and the poor child was accused of all sleeping with the boys and it was her third day at that school. She ran away during classes and the parents were lied to, shouted at ad told to leave the school.,,
if the pupil parent knw abt the hardshp of dat school y do they stil continue sendng their children there nd payng R15000 of school fees
sorry to say, but the children have no dicipline. Don’t blame the school for the children that has no dicipline.

Ha my neighbour’s son also died last year in that school, bathi he drowened , that school is not an academy but jail, johannesburg prison is better than Cerfus iyoo…I will nevert take my child it tha school

This is really bad! I know the girl from our hometown, Bloemfontein. We were also in the same school in Bloem. She was a darling. I really am sorry for her family. I can’t imagine what they must be going through at the moment. This school should be SHUT DOWN, immediately!!!!!!!!!! ;(
