HIV positive rape victim fears for her life

A 25-year-old HIV positive woman is living in fear after she was gang-raped on her way from work last week.

MASOYI – A 25-year-old HIV positive woman is living in fear after she was gang-raped on her way from work last week.

The visibly shaken victim told Mpumalanga News that she hadn’t left her house since that fateful night.

Telling her sad story, she said that what made her afraid was that after she was raped, the men robbed her of her handbag which contained her phone and ARVs.-

“I don’t care if they have contracted the disease or not. I’m just worried that if they see my tablets and realise that I might have infected them, they might want revenge and come back to kill me,” said the single mother of two.-

She added that while the men were raping her, she screamed and told them that she had the virus, but they did not listen.-

Meanwhile, pastors in the area have recently been praying for the rife criminal activities in the area, but one pastor says that the bad things will continue this season.

“There is so much evil going on in this age to an extent that people do not care about their lives. Rapists violate women sexually knowing that they might be at a risk of contracting diseases, but they do it anyway.

This proves that there is a dark force behind all these evil activities,” past. Morris Nkuna said.-

He said it was unfortunate that innocent people fell victim to these crimes, adding that unfortunately not even prayer could change what was going on.-

“It’s the last days and these things were prophesied and so shall they be. It’s time to hold on to the truth and allow these things to prevail,” he said.-
