Motorists urged to be tolerant with each other

Road users are urged to be tolerant with each other and obey the rules of the road at all times.

MBOMBELA – Members of the Mpumalanga legislature have expressed words of condolences to the bereaved families of the 11 victims who lost their lives after a horrific taxi accident last week.

“The province is once again robbed of its people – the family bread-winners, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers” said the speaker of the Provincial Legislature, Ms Thandi Shongwe in the legislature last week Friday.

“As the Mpumalanga Legislature, we send our heartfelt condolences to the grieving families following another devastating accident in our province,” she said.

Shongwe also called on the people of the province to pray for the roads of the province and for the end to the carnage on the roads. “The loss of one life is enough to cause devastation, but when so many lives are lost it becomes difficult for the entire people of the province,” she said.

She also urged motorists to be tolerant with each each, obey the rules of the road and to always check on the safety of their vehicles before taking each trip to avoid such disastrous carnages.
