Death victims increases to 11

Seven people were killed on the spot while two died on their way to hospital another two later died in hospital and five were still going under treatment with serious injuries.

ROCKYSDRIFT- The number of death victims on the latest freak taxi accident which happened on Friday morning on the Plaston Road increased to 11.
According to Sgt Gerald Sedibe, seven were killed on the scene while two died on their way to hospital, two died in hospital and five were still going under treatment with serious injuries.
The driver of the taxi who had only three days driving the taxi which was travelling from Kabokweni and heading towards Mbombela apparently lost control of the vehicle, and it and ended up capsizing in a ditch near R40 in Mpumalanga.
The taxi carrying 15 passengers failed to stop at the intersection. There were no tyre marks as evidence across the intersection. It was suspected that the brakes might have failed.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road into a ditch. On impact, the taxi flipped and the passengers were flung out of the car several metres away from the point of impact.
