Women empowered to appreciate their uniqueness and true value

She urged them to have godly character which includes being pure and holy in deeds and thoughts.

KANYAMAZANE – Members of Deborah Women’s Club were recently empowered on how to be good stewards of the Lord at an event coupled with the launch of a book titled When God Calls a Woman written by the group’s founder, Ligwalagwala FM’s sensational Past Portia Luthuli.

The event was held at KaNyamazane Alliance Church and was attended by members from all over the province and beyond.

“We are not in a feminist gathering, but we are women with talents, who understand that together with men we are God’s stewards in God’s business,” said
Past Busisiwe Phefile.

Phefile urged women to submit to the leadership of their rulers both at church and in the workplace, as well as at home.

“If you are called by God, don’t take what the constitution of South Africa says but take what the constitution of God says,” she said, while urging them to make an impact on other people’s lives.
Phefile urged women to discover who they are in the Lord. “You are unique and valuable and you have to handle yourself as such.

” She urged them to have a godly character which includes being pure and holy in deeds and thoughts, being humble, available and accessible to do good works, responsible, accommodating, composed, trustworthy and to strive for excellence.
“Be imitators of God, people want to see Christ in your daily lives,” she said.

She described godly women as balanced, level-headed, sober, positive in life, natural, cultured and empowered in all dimensions of life.

The club has grown since its birth in 2010. It now has members from Mbombela, KaBokweni, KaNyamazane, Barberton, eMalahleni, Ermelo, Pretoria and from Swaziland’s capital city, Mbabane.

“The club aims to empower women so that they can empower others. We also promote a healthy lifestyle and exercise among our members. We also conduct three book reviews in a year which cater for the needs of all our members, including the single, married, widowed and divorcees in the community,” said Luthuli.

The group also hosts various activities and workshops aimed at helping their members with different skills on balancing work life and parenting, marriages, sex life, cooking skills, business skills, beauty and wellness as well as taking good care of one’s spiritual growth.

Some of the members said being part of the club motivated them to further their studies, look well after themselves and to become good cooks in their homes.
