Man arrested for illegal initiation school has been released

The suspect arrested last week on allegations of running a bogus initiation school at Manyeveni that claimed a life of a six year–old boy has been released.

MBOMBELA – The suspect arrested last week on allegations of running a bogus initiation school at Manyeveni that claimed a life of a six year–old boy has been released.

Mpumalanga News has learnt that that the suspect was released pending further investigations but will be expected to appear in court very soon.

The provincial chairperson of the house of traditional leaders, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena last week in an interview with this publication emphasesed that the law must take its course.

“We are not going to have mercy on the criminals who are opening illegal initiation schools. We are going to deal with them very harshly. They must be taught a lesson that they will never forget.

Since police managed to arrest him he must face the law and they must charge him with murder,”said Mokoena at the time.
He was however unvailable to comment on the release of the suspect.

Last week post-mortem results indicated that the child died due to negligence after sustaining injuries.
The boy was laid to rest last Saturday at Manyeveni.
