MATSULU – Mpumalanga should brace itself for one of the biggest events of the year this Saturday.
The can-only concert, featuring top musicians and DJs will be making its way to Nelspruit on Saturday, 05 July 2014, for an entrance fee of R20.00 at the gate.
According to Can Do! This initiative is inspired by the spirit of South Africa’s music talent and the freshest new sounds, CAN DO!, Nampak Bevcan’s consumer facing brand, will partner with Collect-a-Can, Southern African can recovery company, to host the concert.
The audience will be treated to the sounds of legendary Kwaito musicians such as Zola, Arthur, Lvovo, Chomee, Moneoa and Kelly Khumalo.
“We started this initiative two years ago and it has been a massive success since then. The provinces and people of South Africa altogether are responding positively to it,” said the Brand Ambassador for Can Do! Arthur Mafokate.
Collect-a-Can is part of the inventiveness to create awareness about recycling and the advantages that come with it. According to Can Do! Partygoers can donate their used beverage cans towards a charity in the area. The money generated through collecting these cans will then be awarded to the charity on the partygoers’ behalf.
The roadshow features local acts as well, the likes of Ezase Ground Zero, DJ Desire, Dope Ego, GC, Fantasy, Hooli and Elvis Magewu who will be co-MCing the event with Arthur Mafokate.
The tour also serves as a hub for scouting new talent all over the country.
“It’s a must that we should spot talent during our roadshows, they will be signed with Universal and I sometimes get to mentor some of them,” said Arthur.
The main MC of the night has warned Mpumalanga to gear up for a tremendous event ahead.
“It is unlikely that you see artists like Kelly Khumalo and Chomee performing in the same show, one can guarantee that this will be remarkable, we are also changing the setup in Ground Zero, thus bringing our own equipment to ensure that we take it to another level,” he added.
The show will be making its way to Barberton next year.
