GUTJWA – Local residents will now have easy access to buses.

This comes after the bus company; Buscor recently announced that there will be buses available for residents to take at a closer bus stop.

Over the past years, residents had to walk for an average of 15 minutes in order to get to the nearest bus station. This has been an on-going challenge which led to them being victims of robbery in the early hours of the morning, while walking to the bus station.

Despite this being a long awaited breakthrough, some residents are against this development. With the street being a dusty road, they are concerned about the damage the dust could cause to their houses and health.

One of the unhappy residents said: “These news do not excite me at all, I would be happy if there was a tar road.
“Most of the streets in the area are tarred and the Julukani Street is one of the few streets with no tar road. However, to most of the locals, this was good news,”.

Buscor said they will only fetch the 04.00 passengers because they fear for the crime they have endured thus far, however the bus station will remain the same from 05.00 because Julukani street is not the main road.
