Bikers get fired up for charity run

The Metro FM charity drive is scheduled to take place in December is expected to attract the attention of the entire country to make a difference in the lives of the destitute.

More than 3 000 bikers from around the country will once again converge here for the annual Metro FM Mpumalanga Charity Run.

It will be hosted in conjunction with Ziyaphenduka Promotions and the Mbombela-based Big Five Harley-Davidson.

Scheduled to take place in December on a date still to be confirmed, this charity drive is expected to attract the attention of the entire country, and help make a difference in the lives of the destitute.

It will be multipronged, the first being a music entertainment part which features some of the country’s top musicians and DJs.

The bikers will also tour along some of the province’s major tourist routes, including the townships.
When the event was launched last year, several charity organisations benefited.

According to Mr Bruce Kgapane, director of Ziyaphenduka Promotions, this number will be increased.
“We are excited about this project and I am sure that local people are also looking forward to it.
“Like we said last year at the launch, this is not only about entertainment but more about charity,” said Kgapane.

Last year’s music line-up included Big Nuzz, Khuli Chana, DJs Sbu, Shabba, Tbo Touch and The Soil.
Kgapane has promised to communicate all the other details regarding the run at a later date.
