Municipality send condolences to families

MEC of community safety ,security and liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe and the executive mayor of Mbombela, Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi will be visiting the injured at Themba and Rob's hospital today.

MBOMBELA – After the horrific accident last night near White River, which involved a bus, truck and a vehicle, 10 lives were reportedly lost after the three vehicles burst into flames.

The Mbombela local municipality has sent condolences to families who lost their loved ones in the accident. The others who sustained serious injuries were admitted in nearby hospitals at Themba and rob Ferreira hospitals, respectively.

Speaking to Mpumalanga News, the spokesperson of Mbombela Local Municipality, Mr Joseph Ngala said:

“We would like to send our condolences to all the bereaved families. This is too much, we could have avoided this accident, but unfortunately it happened. We request families of people that are missing or that go to work to Mbombela and White River area to please contact the White River police station because the White River police station personnel were there.”

Ngala also indicated that at this stage, the MEC of community safety ,security and liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe and the executive mayor of Mbombela, Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi will be visiting the injured at Themba and Rob’s hospital today.

“From there, they will also visit the bereaved families. If the people were from Bushbuckridge, the executive mayor of Bushbuckridge will accompany the MEC because it’s not our jurisdiction,” he concluded.
