MBOMBELA – Three suspects were arrested in connection with the shocking incidents that occurred on the 20th March 2014, where Ms Christine Otto (75) was tortured in her house at Burnside, just outside Nelspruit.
The suspects are between 25 – 35, are said to be from Dwaleni, near Kabokweni and Guthswa. During the arrest, police discovered two firearms, five cell phones which one of them is believed to have been stolen from the victim and a Mopani card.
Otto was attacked by three unknown man who were wearing masks when she was outside checking the rain meter.
According to police information, they forced her inside the house before making off with valuable items including a Baby Brow pistol.
Police stated that the suspects tortured her as a way of forcing her to give them the safe keys after she had refused to hand them over to them.
