Females dominated Mp’s cabinet

Women dominated the cabinet posts for Mpumalanga's provincial cabinet.

MBOMBELA – Premier David Mabuza announced his new Members of the Executive committee (MECs) on Friday and really lived up to the expectations of the ANC which had requested a 60 percent proportion in favour of female candidates.

The six women who made it into the 10-member executive committee are Ms Violet Siwela (Human Settlements), Ms Nomsa Mtshweni (social Development), Ms Reginah Mhaule (Education), Ms Refilwe Mtshweni (Cogta), Ms Norah Mahlangu (culture, sport and recreation), and Ms Goodness Nhlengethwa (Public Works and Transport).

Male members are Mr Andries Gamede who moves from Human Settlements to the Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs, Mr Vusi Shongwe who remains in Safety and Community Liaison), Mr Gideon Mashele (Health), and Mr Eric Kholwane in Finance.
