Men in blue ensure the success of ceremony

ELUKWATINI – Local police are proud to have executed their jobs well during the celebrations of the 20th Ummemo ceremony held at Mandlamakhulu tribal authority under the chieftaincy of
Chief KJ Malaza.
“The local members not only dedicated themselves in ensuring that members of the public were safe from the beginning of the event, but worked around the clock to see it to the end and their work yielded fruit because it has been a consequential function. Patrols were conducted and visibilty highly sensitised, including bringing to book those who were found on the wrong side of the law,” explained Const Peace Mbokane.

 

 

The chief also voiced his royal appreciation for the efforts made by members of the SAPS for their valuable support and availability whenever their services are requested.

 
“One can safely say that Elukwatini SAPS can be trusted with the execution duties and for always coming out of their way when partnership is concerned,” contiued Mbokane.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, traditional leaders from various tribal authorities from around the area, as well as the community safety, security and liaison MEC, Mr Vusi Shongwe.
The masses were also entertained by artists as well as traditional dancers rendering “Sibhaca” and “Maskandi” items.
“Behind all these glamorous perfomances were the watchful eyes of the dignified blue ensuring that the ship sails smoothly.
It is quite fitting that the local members be applauded for having attained their goal of protecting and serving the residents,” concluded Mbokane.
