MBOMBELA- The Swaziland Solidarity Network (SSN) has condemned the arrest of Pudemo members for wearing the party’s (Pudemo) T-shirts and berets.
The spokesperson for the SSN, Mre Lucky Lukhele, said that: “Like the biblical king Herod who was extremely jealous of Jesus from the time he was born and later ordered the head of John the baptist as a gift to his daughter, Swaziland’s own king Herod, Mswati, has ordered the arrest of PUDEMO members as fitting present for his 46th birthday.”
He added that the Swaziland Youth Congress reported that the PUDEMO President, Mr Mario Masuku, Secretary General of PUDEMO, Mr Mlungisi Makhanya, the party’s Public relations Officer, MR Brian Ntshangase and other fellow PUDEMO members, were arrested amid being found wearing PUDEMO T-shirts and berets.
“As the Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] we condemn this deplorable act with the harshest terms possible and call upon the entire Mass Democratic Movement, its supporters and symphathisers to engage for mass action against this despot,” Lukhele concluded.
