EFF accuses its former members of embezzlement

According to the EFF's spokesperson, Mr Collen Sedibe, the four members were nothing but trouble and ill-disciplined.

MBOMBELA – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has come out guns blazing and accused its former members, who recently rejoined the ANC, of embezzling funds from the EFF coffers.

According to the EFF’s spokesperson, Mr Collen Sedibe, the four members were nothing but trouble and ill-disciplined.

Mpumalanga News can safely confirm that one of them, Mr Sizwe Makhanya was arrested by the Hawks on charges of fraud and is currently out on R5 000 bail.

Sedibe also refuted claims by the four that they held senior positions in the regional structures, citing that they had only served at branch level.

“The ANC has welcomed back its rotten criminals whom we don’t need in the EFF,” said Sedibe.

“To us, they were just a group of corrupt people.

“They decided to run away because they had misappropriated the party’s money,” he continued. The spokesperson said the funds in question was collected from the sales of the red berets and joining fees.

“We were on the verge of instituting disciplinary measures against the members and this scared them.

“They knew we would not tolerate corruption in the EFF and so they opted for an easy way out.

“We want to make it clear that it’s not a loss to our party because they only joined us six months ago. They did not meaningfully contribute to the EFF,” said Sedibe.

He stated if they had joined the party with the intention of spying for the ANC, they were sadly mistaken because party members were too intelligent for them.

“Those who think that they can deceive us by joining the EFF just because they want to spy for other parties, are wasting their time because we screen people.

“I want to state that we have members of EFF within the ANC who are working as our spies, they keep us updated on everything that it is planning to do to us,” he revealed.
